Red Hook Recording

Nestled on the waterfront in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Red Hook Recording is a premier music recording and production studio, owned and operated by Eric Sanderson and Joshua Rouah. Our 2000-square-foot creative sanctuary offers a breathtaking view of the Statue of Liberty through three grand arched windows. Built in the 1860s, the space combines historic character—original stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings, and a working brick fireplace—with state-of-the-art vintage and modern recording technology.

At the heart of our studio is the massive 1000-square-foot live room, ideal for capturing expansive sounds and intimate performances alike. The adjoining 600-square-foot control room is a perfect environment for producing and mixing, equipped with a meticulously curated selection of rare, legendary vintage instruments and equipment from the renowned Kizmit Collection.

Our centerpiece is the 1968 Electrodyne 1204 Console, supported by a full range of vintage analog outboard gear, Ampex MM1200 and Scully 280 tape machines, and a mic locker stocked with classics from RCA, Neumann, Telefunken, Altec, AKG, and beyond.

Whether you’re looking to track, mix, or produce, Red Hook Recording is designed to inspire creativity and help you realize your artistic vision. Here, every detail is crafted to offer you an unforgettable recording experience—one where the rich history of our space merges with the tools and expertise needed to craft tomorrow’s timeless music.

The Studio has its own lounge, kitchenette, bathroom, and private parking.
